BACKGROUND: SharedBook’s technology platform assembles, composes, prices and delivers custom books for educators, consumers, online publishers and enterprises. In 2011, SharedBook launched a new service, AcademicPub. SharedBook also has various other on-line brands such as Blog2Print, and supports clients that need POD books.
AcademicPub, built specifically for educators, allows for immediate creation of custom course materials and features real-time copyright clearance, and the ability to include materials from anywhere – web articles, lectures, or content from the AcademicPub library. Digital or print distribution allows lower prices for students, up-to-the-minute materials, and a fast, easy way for educators to provide an engaging educational experience.
SUMMARY: The Marketing Assistant for Academic Pub will be involved in execution of all tactical marketing efforts, and will be the key source of business intelligence for the service.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop copy for email campaigns, sell sheets, marketing collateral & websites, including landing pages.
- With Creative Services, execute email and print promotion initiatives
- With Business Development, create materials and coordinate conference appearances to support sales programs.
- Remain informed of market trends, industry developments and technological advances
- Track and report key marketing metrics for email, direct marketing and other marketing campaigns.
REQUIREMENTS:
- BA required
- Copy Writing/Editing
- Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Ability to manage timelines, deliverables and coordinate effectively with team members, management and outside clients
- Creativity/intuition combined with analytical ability
- Ability to build trusting relationships
2-3 years of experience in educational and/or professional publishing environment is a plus.
